The history of Calenso

A good 10 years ago, Patrick and his brother Michael Breiter were annoyed by the outdated way of making appointments using normal forms or phone calls. During Christmas dinner, the brothers decided to solve this problem together! The idea behind Calenso was born. In the years that followed, Patrick and Michael spent long evenings and weekends working on their vision alongside their permanent jobs and studies: To digitize the process from appointment booking to customer communication to actual appointments to help companies manage appointments in a more efficient and modern way.

Calenso becomes its own stock corporation

With the addition of Marvin Felder, the three founded the digital agency Braincept AG in 2016. Calenso developed next door as a leading solution for flexible & adaptable online appointment scheduling processes with over 15,000 well-known customers throughout Europe. Projects for customers were slowly put on hold and the focus was placed entirely on the online appointment scheduling software Calenso and the startup Calopad, which also grew out of Braincept AG. Today, however, Calenso is a key player in the national and European market and has become indispensable. With over ten employees, the time has now come to spin off Calenso into its own public limited company.

The software company based in Sempach, in the beautiful canton of Lucerne, was spun off from Braincept AG with all rights and obligations into Calenso AG on 09.05.2022.

The current customer contracts were taken over and will be continued by the spun-off company.

Nothing will change for customers. The software, the terms and conditions and, of course, the employees remain the same. And yet the three founders look back fondly on the last nine years. What began as a trivial idea during their studies has now become an established software company that offers international customers an all-in-one solution for online appointment scheduling.
